Your doctor will assess your skin to understand your skin and the type of scarring you have. This allows us to set an appropriate protocol for you. The doctor will apply the peel onto your face. After allowing it adequate time to dry, you will be sent home with instructions about when and how to wash the peel off. Your doctor will also hand over to you the maintenance cream and instruct you in post application care.
How often will I need to repeat the treatment?
For very stubborn pigmentation, we recommend you visit us again 4-6 weeks after your first sitting. But even with just one sitting, you will see the pigmentation has significantly faded. Based on the degree of improvement your skin is showing, your doctor will be able to suggest the best way forward. For an overall improvement in skin tone we recommend clients repeat the peel every 12-15 months.
What kind of results can I expect?
Unfortunately once the melanocytes have been damaged, they can never be repaired completely. Therefore it is important to understand that it is possible for clinical treatments to significantly lighten pigmentation. However there is no treatment available in the market to completely eradicate existing pigmentation. Apart from addressing this issue, your skin will have a gorgeous glow, with smaller pores, diminished fine lines and a brighter complexion.
